My Story.
In 2016, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lymphoma cancer, and the next several months were filled with the harsh realities of chemotherapy. I felt weak, sick, and defeated. During that time, the only place I found true comfort and strength was in God’s Word. As I sat in my recliner each day, I began writing down Bible verses that encouraged and sustained me. Those verses became my daily lifeline, over 800 Scriptures, organized into 66 chapters of hope and healing. As I read, prayed, and spoke those verses aloud, I noticed my overwhelming fear beginning to turn into faith. Slowly, my body grew stronger, and my spirit more confident. I learned to boldly engage in prayer and spiritual warfare, finding peace and power in God’s promises. Soon, people began asking me for copies of the verses and prayers that had helped me so much. After sharing them for months, I decided to compile them into a book, Drawing Close to God, so others could easily access the healing and encouragement I had found. Drawing Close to God is more than just a collection of Bible verses; it’s a guide to finding hope, strength, and peace in the midst of life’s trials. Whether you are facing health challenges, emotional struggles, or simply seeking to grow closer to God, this book provides Scriptures and prayers that speak directly to your spirit, mind, and body. This book is for anyone who needs a reminder of God’s unwavering love and the power of His Word. It’s a tool for transformation, a companion for healing, and a source of encouragement for all ages. May Drawing Close to God help you discover the same peace and strength that carried me through my darkest days, and draw you closer to the One who heals, restores, and sustains. |
I want to thank you so very much for your book Drawing Close to God. My sister gave me this book … and we are doing a Bible Study together even though we live in different states. …the Scriptures that you wrote helped me so much after my husband died. …it’s a wonderful book. - JC
I am really enjoying this book. I love to be able to open to a certain topic. One verse that really touched me was on page 156. Psalm 116:1-2 ‘I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath.’” The part ‘ He bends down to listen’ just jumped out at me, I picture a Father bending over and listening to His child. This book is very unique and I know it comes from much prayer and a lot of work. I pray the Lord blesses you. - DC
What a beautiful book! I was so touched by the beginning…I will enjoy today and I know for years. - B

I got this book for my cousin who had brain cancer. …Today she called me saying there is no sign of cancer! Praise God! I’m not saying this book healed her, but it taught her how to handle it and how to pray. So thank you Vicki Monette for doing this book - KH
